PRESENTATION OF THE PROJECT "FASHION TRAINING CENTER: A POINT OF GROWTH FOR PROFESSIONALS"

On October 25, 2024, in Khmelnytskyi, a presentation of the "Fashion Training Center: a growth point for professionals" project, implemented by the NGO "Sustainable Development Agency "ASTAR" within the framework of the USAID program, took place in the premises of the Proskuriv Business Hall (Dytyachi Svit shopping center) We dream and act", implemented by IREX. The project is aimed at training personnel for the labor market in the field of light industry.

The project, under the leadership of candidate technical of Sciences, associate professor of the department of technology and design of sewing products, cluster manager of the GS "Podilskyi fashion cluster" Galina Shvets, offers participants training for three months according to a program based on express methods and focused on practical skills.

An important feature of the project is work with teenagers. They will get acquainted with professions in the fashion industry, learn financial literacy and the basics of entrepreneurship, and even gain experience in sewing. Each project participant will complete the training with a presentation of their business plan. Teenagers will be trained at the "KATRAN" Business School.

For young people aged 18-35, two training courses are offered, which take into account the initial skills of the participants. In turn, each course contains several different directions covering the most relevant specialties in the sewing industry. Training will be held at the "Fashion Training Center", which is located in the premises of the department of technology and design of sewing products of the Khmelnytskyi National University.

During their studies, schoolchildren aged 14-17 will go on excursions, and young people aged 18-35 will have the opportunity of internships and employment at the sewing enterprises of the GS "Podilskyi Fashion Cluster".

During the welcome speech, Deputy Mayor Mykola Vavryshchuk spoke about the relevance of the project and emphasized that this project will help the city increase the number of entrepreneurs, cool clothing brands and help existing businesses with professional staff.

Valentyn Sokolyuk, deputy head of the regional council, expressed his support for the project, thanking everyone involved in its implementation, in particular the teams of the ASTAR Sustainable Development Agency, the Katran Business School, and the department of technology and design of sewing products, whose work is aimed at the development of entrepreneurship in the region.

For his part, the rector Khmelnytskyi National University Serhii Matyukh noted the value of the department of technology and design of sewing products, which has been training personnel for light industry for five decades.

As part of the event, several clothing collections of talented Khmelnytskyi designers who are graduates of the Khmelnytskyi National University were shown at once.

In general, the presented project will allow young people to obtain new qualifications and the necessary skills to create their own business or develop an existing business. During training, professional trainers will share not only theoretical knowledge, but also real examples of the implementation of successful business projects, the authors and implementers of which are creative youth.
