MEETING OF THE CLUSTER ECOSYSTEM OF LIGHT INDUSTRY IN KHMELNYTSKY: CURRENT CHALLENGES, NEW CASES AND DEVELOPMENT PROSPECTS

November 6 in In Khmelnytskyi, there was a meeting of teachers of Khmelnytskyi National University, heads of sewing and shoe companies, employees of the ASTAR sustainable development agency, representatives of IT companies, as well as experts from Kyiv and Lviv.

The event included visits to enterprises and lively discussions, from which several key conclusions were drawn regarding the needs and prospects for the development of the industry.

The main conclusions of the meeting:
  1. Demand for automation and digitization at light industry enterprises is significant, but often hidden. Large companies can clearly formulate technical tasks (TOR) and create business cases, while small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) need tailored solutions for effective digital transformation.
  2. Focus areas for experts and consultants:
    • Promotion of double crossing (environmental and digital) through clarification of current trends for the industry.
    • Proposal of solutions for optimization of production processes — planning, product life cycle management using MOM, CAD-CAM, PLM-PDM.
    • Ecosystem cooperation з передовими провайдерами сервісів.
    • Demand for ERP systems, especially adapted for SMEs.
    • ARM systems in demand for the maintenance of automated equipment at large enterprises.
  3. Lack of personnel — the biggest challenge for the industry. Enterprises face an acute shortage of professional technologists, designers and technical specialists, which slows down the launch of new products. Accordingly, the personnel issue has become one of the most discussed topics that requires an immediate solution.
  4. The importance of modern business cases — the case from IT-Enterprise and Roman Yavorsky at the Progress-service enterprise was warmly received by the audience and emphasized the need for modern practical solutions.

After the visits to the light industry enterprises, a working meeting was held in the office of the NGO "Agency for Sustainable Development" ASTAR.

  • Presentation of the experience of "TES3" - a sewing factory specializing in the creation of military and specialized equipment.
  • Presentation of the results of the research on the digital maturity of light industry productions by APPAU.
  • Formation of a portfolio of service providers - the first use-cases (IT-Enterprise).
  • Presentation of the EDIH work format in 2025 on digitalization and automation of industrial enterprises by Khmelnytskyi National University.

Thank you for the meeting of the Podil fashion cluster and the Ukrainian cluster alliance.
