On September 25, 2026, representatives of the CLOTEX-HUB European Digital Innovation Hub participated in an expert discussion on the development prospects of the light industry in the Khmelnytskyi urban territorial community. The event took place at the office of the NGO "ASTAR Sustainable Development Agency" as part of the "Mayors for Economic Growth" (M4EG-III, 2025–2028) joint initiative of the European Union and UNDP.
Representatives from the business sector, the scientific community, and expert circles joined the meeting to discuss the current state of the community's light industry and the steps needed for its further growth. Participants discussed innovations already implemented at enterprises, barriers hindering digital transformation, and new opportunities for collaboration among manufacturers, educational institutions, the scientific community, and local authorities.
During the discussion, representatives of CLOTEX-HUB outlined the tools already available to Ukrainian light industry enterprises. Topics included testing digital solutions prior to investment; utilizing artificial intelligence, 3D modeling, and VR/AR technologies; developing employees' digital skills; and providing support in preparing projects for European grant programs.
Such meetings are important for the formation of a common vision of the development of the industry, because it is the open dialogue between all participants of the ecosystem that helps to determine the real needs of enterprises and find effective solutions for their development. For CLOTEX-HUB Participation in such initiatives is another opportunity to foster the digital transformation of the light industry, drive innovation, and strengthen partnerships at the regional level.
The results of the study being conducted by the ASTAR GO team under the "Mayors for Economic Growth" initiative will serve as the basis for further steps to support light industry enterprises in the Khmelnytskyi community and develop its innovation potential.
