TECHSTYLE HACKATHON 2026: UNITING THE IT AND GARMENT INDUSTRIES TO CREATE INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS

In late October, a major event—Techstyle Hackathon 2026—took place in Khmelnytskyi. It was organized by members of a consortium led by the initiative’s leader, the Khmelnytskyi IT Cluster, as part of a project implementation. Over the course of two days, October 30 and 31, participants worked on developing practical technological solutions, bridging modern information technology with the real-world needs of the garment manufacturing industry.

The event brought together 44 students from leading educational institutions in the region: Khmelnytskyi National University, Khmelnytskyi Polytechnic Professional College, and the Khmelnytskyi State Vocational Education Institution for the Service Sector. Organized into 9 multidisciplinary teams, the young innovators worked on 5 real-world case studies provided by garment manufacturing enterprises. The teams successfully combined IT skills, technical knowledge, and a creative approach, and on the second day of the hackathon, they presented their projects to an expert jury.

Based on the evaluation results, the winners of the hackathon are:

  • First place — the team Sublim
  • Second place — the VibeKotiki team
  • Third place — Team Famey

In addition to the top three, the Ordo Sartorialis and ByteStitch teams received incentive prizes, earning the opportunity to implement their solutions at an actual garment manufacturing facility in Khmelnytskyi.

The organization and successful execution of the hackathon were the result of the coordinated work of a consortium led by Khmelnytskyi IT Cluster with the partnership and support of the Clotex-HUB team, the Khmelnytskyi City Council, and its Department of Economics. Significant contributions to the preparation and guidance of the teams were made by faculty members from the departments of Computer Science, Computer Engineering and Information Systems, as well as the Department of Technology and Design of Garment Products.

Techstyle Hackathon 2026 confirmed that it is precisely at the intersection of education, IT, and business that ideas capable of transforming traditional industries are born. The conclusion of the event marks the start of the key phase: the practical implementation of the teams' projects within the real economy.
